So which of these two games systems is better? The Sony PlayStation 3 was the first to arrive on November 17th, with the Nintendo Wii only two days later, on the 19th. Read on to discover the answers!

Sony PlayStation 3:

After many notable delays and production problems, Sony was finally able to release its PlayStation 3 console in order to meet the Christmas rush; Well not quite. Sony was indeed able to release its system; however this shipment numbers were nowhere near what was expected. It was estimated that only 500,000 units arrived up to the end of the year.

Nintendo Wii:

A continues supply of Wii consoles are being shipped on a weekly basis to retailers in order to make it easier to get a Wii with each passing week.

Sony PlayStation 3:

When it comes to the current crop of games for the PS3, it is generally thought that there are not really any special games worth getting at the moment. I have had the pleasure of playing the PS3 and most if its games. The most impressive games at presents seems to be Resistance: Fall of Man.

Nintendo Wii:

For the first time in its history, Nintendo released a Zelda game at the consoles launch. There is not doubt that this launch title is the best game available on the Wii. Nintendo and its third-party developers have covered all the bases. No matter your preference, sports games or shooting games, there is plenty to choose from.

Sony PlayStation 3:

Although, the first crop of games to arrive do not even come close to realizing the full potential of the Playstation 3 in terms of graphics, the current games are still much prettier than those of the Wii.

Who Said Games Controllers Were Boring?

There can’t be many people who do not know the big three video games systems currently available in the stores. We usually compare the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii and decide which is best based on graphics ability but it is also important to look at how they are operated using the games controllers provided in the budle you buy.

We may not think a lot about controllers but there are peaople who spend their lives designing them and we usually just use them without thinking. The Xbox first appeared back in 2001 but with it came a controller now commonly known as the Duke Controller.

Unfortunately for Microsoft customers found people found the controller was too large to use comfortably and so people didn’t like to use it. In response they quickly released the Controller S a model that is very similar to the current Xbox 360 controller.

The controller they supply now is the most comfortable and most convenient to use. The Playstation 3 controller while it may look a little different is not as different as it might look.

It is not totally disimilar to the controller for the PS2 with a couple of internal changes. The first controller Sony supplied appeared very different but it’s changed control scheme was abandoned.

The talk is that the controller didn’t work as well as the established PS2 controller. The right descision may have been made in the end but Sony will have to get it right getting ready for the replacement system.

There is nothing basically wrong with the current system but gamers are going to want more with the control systems in any new games console released. There are fewer customers with spare money these days and the release of new games consoles might be put off for a year or two before gamers get what they want.

The last machine we look at is the Wii games systems from Nintendo which are a breath of fresh air. Something totally different was included with the wii bundle and the wiimote is very different and hard to compare to older and more established console controllers.

The wiimote is more innovative and a completely original approach to the idea that you interact with the characters on screen. They are more advanced than all the other games console improvements over the last twenty years.

Technology sometimes puts cleverness over customer appreciation but here it is used for the enjoyment of the customer and it has the potential to take gaming to a whole new level. The wii and the wii fit bundle proved there are more important features than just the power of the computer chips inside though they didn’t realise what a great change the controllers introduced.

It will be fascinating to discover whatever the eighth generation of and if price is no problem these are the ones to get. Chances are they will all be interactive and not very different from the wiimote and they could be completely different to what we expect.

Club Penguin Medieval Party

One of the most entertaining things to do on the kids’s game Club Penguin is to attend-go to the different events and parties that happen. These parties are almost always planned once each month and often follow a theme, such as the {Christmas,St. Patrick’s,April Fool’s} Party or the Halloween Party. But one of the biggest events each year is the Club Penguin Medieval Party, which first happened in May, 2008 and is planned again for May, 2009. Almost all of the places in Club Penguin are re-designed for the party and there are a lot of exciting things players can do.

The first Medieval Party happened between May 16, 2008 and May 25, 2008. It was one of the biggest parties in Club Penguin history. Most of the rooms in the game were decorated. As usual, one of the most popular things was the free item giveaway. In 2008, there were 2 pieces of clothing that players could get for free. The first one was the Squire Tunic available at the Dock. The second free item was a wizard hat available at the Lighthouse. The wizard hat was also given out in the Halloween Party from 2006.

One of the most popular attractions was a dragon that appeared inside the Mines. The Switchbox 3000 device, which normally appears in the Stage was moved to the Mine to control the dragon.

Special Costumes

In the Penguin Style catalog there was a dragon, knight and princess costume for member Penguins, medieval backgrounds and a specialnote from the party committee about preparing for this party. The costumes could be bought by members in Club Penguin.

Tree Fort

This room was a special room that only appeared during the Club Penguin Medieval Party. It was a place to hang out and enjoy the party. One entertaining feature was a hole in the tree where different colored Puffles would appear and make faces at you.

The 2009 Medieval Party

The 2009 edition of the Club Penguin Medieval Party will be held from May 8, 2009 through May 17, 2009. Club Penguin has only released a few details about the party but it looks to be as big, if not bigger than last year’s!
